- SECTION III: INSTRUCTIONS
-
- Insanity I and II are two-token text adventures. Your input must be
- limited to either a verb (alone) or a verb/noun combination. Sample
- verbs accepted by the games are given below.
-
- Insanity III has a four-token parser. It translates your input into
- the same two-token verb/noun combination, but takes out any "noise"
- words such as "THE", "A", "AN", or "AT".
-
- Verbs typically understood by the parsers are:
-
- LOOK - This will give you a description of either
- the surrounding area, or if this command
- is given with a noun, the program will
- describe the object. You may abbreviate
- this "L".
-
- EXAMINE - This will give a more detailed description
- of an object either in the room or in
- your possession. It can be abbreviated "X".
-
- I - This is short for INVENTORY which takes
- an inventory of all that you are carrying.
-
- GO - Followed by a direction, this command will
- move you to another area. You can also
- just type in the direction (EAST, NORTH,
- UP) or an abbreviation (E, N, U, etc.).
-
- Sometimes you can talk to someone. They usually ask you yes/no
- questions to which you may respond. This doesn't always mean that
- yes and no are the only answers that will be understood, however.
